UN Counter-Terrorism Committee
The United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee (UNCTC) is a body established by the United Nations Security Council in 2001 following the September 11 terrorist attacks. Its primary role is to assist member states in enhancing their legal and institutional capacity to combat terrorism in all its forms. The CTC works to monitor the implementation of Security Council resolutions on counter-terrorism, promote international cooperation, and provide guidance on best practices. It also collaborates with other UN bodies and organizations to support member states in addressing terrorism-related challenges while respecting human rights and the rule of law.
